This book has nothing to do with the summer movie by the same name that was released after publication. It’s a story about a man who is a failed author, husband, and father who resorts to writing a book on “UFOlogy” under a pseudonym to get by financially. A significant plot point occurs when he goes to a stock photography agency for pictures of “Men in Black” to appear in his book. This understated cover is meant to resemble a file folder, with only black and green ink on uncoated paper and die-cut slots that reveal the cover copy, which is stamped in white on the book’s black casing.
